LED lights used to be tricky when it came to dimming, as they operate at much lower wattages than incandescent light bulbs and were therefore hard to control with traditional leading edge dimmers. To dim LED lights, one had to use trailing edge dimmers, which were better suited for operating at low wattages. Nowadays our lighting systems are more and more remotely controled or controled wirelessly with the help of smart dimmers. They are tipically small, easy to install and cover all existing light bulbs used today. When chosing the right LED dimmer switch, be sure to ask your retailer about compatibility with your LED lights, but most of all carefully chose the technology used to operate your smart dimmers. In doing so, you will avoid incompatibility issues later on, when adding new smart solutions to your home atomation system. Until recently, smart home solutions were limited to the home itself, but when it comes to LED light dimmers, there are now products available on the market for use with 12V direct current, prevalent in cars, trailers, boats, camping sites, etc. These products are small and affordable and often work with several different light sources.
